The American Humane Certified label assures consumers that animals have been raised in an environment that is free from fear and distress; free from unnecessary pain, injury or disease; free from hunger and thirst by ready access of water and a healthful diet; and free from discomfort by providing ample shelter and living space, proper facilities and company of animals of their own kind.

The Humane Certified process is conducted by the American Humane Association, America's oldest, most prestigious national humane association. Humane Certified followed Clover's supply chain and certified that Clover Stornetta's animals were reared and cared for in the most humane way possible. The Humane Certified certification process is verified by the U. S. Department of Agriculture/Agricultural Marketing Service.
